to keep dink alive you would need to deviate from the original dink interface and translate it into a more diablo2 lod interface with better graphics bigger inventory and larger world and bigger places of movement (not just everyscreen or so make it scroll smoothly)and also add online playability (like battle net)this should increace the overall populaity of the game and thus attract more players .
but to do this you will have to change the dink engine into a new complex omega awesome commercial quality game engine worth 7845681347846846851464290 dollars this will also bring great financial wea.... i mean health. and that is the end of my humble suggestion.
