The Dink Network

Just uploaded the Black Skull D-mod. Hope you all enjoy it. It should be ready for the Dink Network in a little while. When it's ready, feel free savage it.
This D-mod was the first real D-mod I worked on back in 2014. It took me a while because I got burned out. But now that it is finished I am releasing it to the public. This is part of a trilogy that I am working on. The sequel to this D-mod is in the making.

It is an epic size D-mod. It shouldn't have any freeze bugs or hopefully NO bugs. I played it like 3 times. But if you do encounter a bug or if the game crashes NOTIFY ME AT ONCE!

I had to set up a few warp points in the game to get to one place to another very quickly. But I believe that I got all of them.

Hmmm. Now we are waiting for at least two pending status dmods to be made available for download.

Yay my D-mod has been released!

NOTE: I did encounter 1 freeze bug. Don't talk to the sign outside of dink's house. I'll have it fixed soon.

bug report and early review:
- You have a great set of "first screens" and intro! The graphics are used nicely and the story is quite compelling.
- When Dink reads about his "Dinks Famous Bar and Pig Farm", he freezes in place. Perhaps that is the "freeze bug" you encountered just outside of Dink's house?
- Let me know if you are interested in a number of spelling errors I noticed here and there.
- You are missing a double quote in line 9 of the v2-lib.c script, and seem to also be missing (and/or have misplaced) quite a few curly braces in that script. Perhaps you know something I do not about how DinkC works best, but I could not help but notice that you seemed to be missing curly braces from every script file I happened to peek into.
- After attempting to either read about the "Treasures Of The Desert" or just "Put the book back", it seemed that Dink froze up here too.

- Any conversation with Shorty seemed to end with Dink frozen in place next to him when he tried to end the conversation.

Thank you for reporting these issues. This D-mod is like 4 years old to tell you the truth. I dug it up and finished it.
My scripts are pretty messy as you may have noticed.

Question: When I want to make modifications to my D-mod do I just upload again with the fixes?

Someone who is more experienced in these matters may be better able to answer that question. I'd say that the important part of the upload would be to give it the same name but be certain to correctly select one of these options for your contribution:
a) New Version
Have you created a new version for one of your files?
Upload it here.
b) New Patch
Have you created a new patch for one of your files?
Upload it here.

Use version, not patch.

It might take a while, but I'll get it done.

Since you asked, here are a few of the spelling errors I noticed:

- sp: incatation -> incantation
- sp: incatations -> incantations
- sp: Your weird -> You're weird.
- sp: Your ugly -> You're ugly.
- sp: harty -> hearty
- sp: Your Fired --> You're fired.
- sp: Your not funny! -> You're not funny!
- sp: Your alive!? -> You're alive!?
- sp: Your going to have to get pass me -> You're going to have to get past me
- sp: Your welcome -> You're welcome

Also I added one more "freeze bug" to the list I first submitted around September 29th, 12:35.

Just remember how to spell correctly when you revise your dmod before submitting. The thing to always keep note of is, "I before E, except after C, and when it is an exception or just not enforced"

Also you could just send us some sentences if you think there may be a grammar mistake or need an example, we aren't called the Grammar Nazi Hub because Punisher was part Nazi.

we had a grammar nazi correct some posts (inaccurately) before. it turned out to be leprochaun playing a prank.

Well if you can remember his visits, then you should remember his lessons, just look at your post. First you should capitalize that 'W', unless you are some kind of barbaric swine. Next you should also capitalize the 'I' or at least merge the sentences. Afterwards you should make sure to spell 'inaccurately' correctly, as in 'inacureatelays'. If you do not want anyone getting made at you, you should also try to capitalize the 'L' in Leprochaun, it is the poor...... it's name after all. Finally you should make sure to combine 'out' and 'prank' together, it is one of the simple grammar rules of the Third Conditional.

And you thunk you knowed englishhh, you're quiet horrible for languages.

I need some help!

I have visited Mahla, Morgan; two castles and explored the interior of a mysterious tower.

I have acquired the "eeny weeny" magical tome(a.k.a.the Book of Klamerin); but am not sure how to use it. For example, it does not help with the "Unstable magic barrier".

What am I missing? Where do I need to go next?

Ummm... no, I have not fought with a skeletal mage. Is that something I must do next? Where should I go to do that?

Go back to the tower. I'm pretty sure you missed something there. Did you see the area with the purple walls? If yes, explore it some more, it's larger than the part you explored. If not: Did you see the staircase in the tower? Because you need to go down there.

Hey Dink fans, this is a truly GREAT dmod.

To be sure, the dmod as released was not perfect, but I understand that the author is working on some of the worst of these few shortcomings:

- The supplied map is almost useless.
- The DinkC code is not very well structured.
- There are a few freeze bugs that force you to restart.
- The grammar and spelling leave a little to be desired.

With a little work, that fixes some of the worst problems, there is much to be thankful for within this dmod that could be one of the best on the Dink Network.

- The story is interesting.
- There is great humor throughout.
- There is a truly epic scope for the quest.
- Graphics are used in creative ways.
- Music really "sets the mood" again and again.
- Added spells and special effects are used!
