New Graphics: Medieval Status Bars
More new graphics, here's some medieval style status bars and inventory screen, made by Synbi, of recent watery fame.
Personally, I think images have never fit, and never will fit into Menus/Status bars, so sorry man, didn't really like this. The sidebars were pretty good though. So, if I was not too lazy to write a review, I would give it 5.0. or something, I guess.
I have unfortunately misplaced the plain background images of the status bar and inventory screen, so it's not possible for me to change the font or texts any more. And I sure don't wish to be making these from the scratch again either.
I planned to use these on a cancelled D-Mod I was working on a while ago, so I just uploaded them here instead of the trashcan...

I don't agree. I think they look awesome. Best MENU screens so far. 10000/10!
There are not too many status bar skins to choose from, and not everyone will bother to make their own. Here's to more variety! And... I'd say these are pretty nice, I'd rank them 7/10
What are you talking about?! These are yours! Don't pull a SimonK.

It's true there aren't too many Status Bar graphics to choose from, but I'm still saying that Status Bars are better with background as a background, instead of a picture as a background, get it?

I find it very very difficult to make a good new status bar. In fact, almost none of the ones I've seen in d-mods or on the DN fit the game world for me. They either stick out too much or are just plain ugly. For the status bar, having a superpretty one can actually detract from the experience instead of add to it.
Having said that, this release is decent, I especially like the 2 side bars, but the bottom bar as well as the menu background don't work as well for me.

I can hear what you're saying Skull Perhaps I'll make some status bars in conventional style next, then.
Nice, I like them, although I do agree in that I like an actual background better than a picture, but I still like it. I'd give it a 6.5.
Btw, if anyone is finding it hard to make status bars or inventory screens, I released a file called 'status bar and inventory layouts', which makes it a lot easier - but only if you have GIMP or photoshop, as they support layers and each element is separated into their own layers, to make it easy to edit... You can edit the layouts in paint if you really want to, as I provided a BMP version, but it will be more difficult, because it won't be editable in layers.
As an example of it's use - I created my status bar for my Dmod(The Dark Avilan), using my layout, and it only took me 15 minutes in photoshop. I also created an inventory screen, which also took me about 15 minutes to make, so that's 30 minutes all up.
TDA Status bar(in-game)
TDA Inventory(in-game)
Just to give you an example of the end result you can achieve with the layouts, and using Photoshop.
