Fallout Show
I thought it'd be a nice opportunity to get some activity going in here.
I just finished the Fallout show. Todd Howard is executive producer (for some reason).
I really liked it. I've been on a sort of Fallout spree lately, watching the show and playing two fallout games intermittently (Fallout New Vegas on my PC and Fallout 1 on my phone using the fo2.exe app), which helped me keep up with the lore in the show.
I'm not the biggest fan of the cinematography and some of the editing. The writing I'd say is above average but with quite a few cliches. I will say, however, that they took the universe seriously and did their research. The characters, I wasn't the biggest fan of them at the beginning, I thought they were a bit exaggerated (if that's the right term), but they grew on me, and comparing them to characters in the games, I realized that's just how people in the Fallout universe are.
Overall, I'd give season 1 a 7.5 and I'm extremely hyped for season 2 because it'll happen in New Vegas and I think they have the potential to do some great things with it!

only issues i had with the show were the sexist double standards at the beginning (the dude can be naked and traded as a breeder, but he is the only one that can be naked during sex. girl has to be fully clothed. typical amazon/hollywood), and the fact the ghoul character didn't look very ghoulish. could do with some bits of his face missing or something.

Not having played any of the games my take on the series was, not bad. It just lost steam half way through with giving up on finding the head after the mutant water creature ate it. There was some corny line from the Ghoul about slow digestion and thus having time, but the daughter from the vault loses her burning desire to find her father which broke the suspension of disbelief for me. Visuals were interesting though.
It was pretty ok. A solid 7/10 in my book, which puts it in the highest echelon of video game adaptations.
The biggest thing that annoyed me were bits of lazy writing. Like the characters not acting logically because plot point X needs to happen, running into each other on pure chance, or armor suddenly having a massive issue with it.
I wonder how they'll deal with the endings of New Vegas. Will they just bite the bullet and choose one ending as canon? Or can they somehow weasel out of it?

They might be able to weasel out of it by using the fall of NCR that they established. I imagine with the lack of NCR control over the strip and with Caesar's Legion most probably already destroyed, there wouldn't be much else to work around other than deciding if Mr. House is alive or not. Other than that, they have quite a bit of space to make new characters and maybe even factions.
