I'm proud to present my first dmod: Karel ende Elegast.
It's more like a movie, or even a book: there's lots of dialog, and only a few parts where you have to do things yourself. And those things aren't very hard either. But it's a nice story, so I hope you will like it anyway. I particularly encourage you to try everything.
There's one bug which I couldn't find a fix for: in the forest, Adelbrecht is extremely slow. I tried setting his speed and timing the same as Milder in S1-BUL.c, but that didn't help. It's not really a problem; it shouldn't be hard to hit him anyway.
Please let me know what you think.
Since I don't have an account, I can't upload it here. So I put it on my own computer. Enjoy.

Oops! I forgot to add http://, so the link was messed up. It's here.
I really think you should use that Shevek1 account someone created for you. Nobody's gonna think any less of you, if you do.
Or you know, like Sh3v3k.
I can certainly upload that dmod for you if you want to. That's actually the primary way uploading files worked in the past - you'd send it to the staff and then they would take care of it (this was early 2000s I think, so things were a little sucky ).
Is it a romp, quest or Epic? And what theme does it have? Is it a story with just Dink or with many other characters contributing to the story like COE?

Oh, ok. Well that would be nice.
About the account: I don't actually miss it. The site works fine for me as it is. Is there a reason I should want an account with another name then what I prefer?

You wouldn't have to be on ghost all the time.
Plus you aren't able to write reviews or upload screenies, and nobody would be able to impersonate you.
kinda you could take thier ghost name and/or body and post bad things
Leave him alone u lot - if he wanted one he would get one
well im not being mean and thats a guy I thought it was a name like that girl on RE5
Ghosts don't have genders, they're all ectoplasm.

Wrong.
Wrong.
so if there ectoplaysum are they fabulous or lesbian when they date and marrie
Ghosts are too busy haunting places to have dating lives.
Again - isn't this someones game thread - why cant you lot keep your crap to your own threads *sigh*
I tried to download it, but it says it was a malformed file.
/me emails it to leppy
@duck - sorry to shevek not me - I am just being a bossy boots

MsDink: I hope you redownloaded it? I fixed the hardness problem you had; if you mail the version with the bug, he'll have the same problem, if he isn't using freedink.

Just a little note: i tried it right now on windows:
- works on freedink
- works on dink 1.08 with aural+ patch
- doesn't work on vanilla dink 1.08 (crashes after splash screen). This is pretty weird since there's nothing really different in aural+ but some sound fixes

Origin of name?
Click on "Ordering" for a story which is about that (among other things).
Or read dmod.diz for a shorter version.

Thanks for testing!

Hmm. I do copy all the loadsound() calls from freedink's main.c into my generated main.c, because people with dink.exe experienced crashes when non-loaded sounds were called. Perhaps I'm not loading enough sounds? Or does it also crash when a sound that it tries to load doesn't exist? If anyone knows what the problem is (and thus how to fix it), please let me know, so I can fix the generator.
I need to implement much of the sound handling still, and I'd like to do it in a way that it works for everyone.

I just finished playing. Good job! I've thought about adapting old stories to video games before, so I like the idea.
One bug I found was that if I brought up the exit menu while I was in the room with the fish (I didn't test it other places) and then selected continue, the game continued, but the menu stayed on the screen till I left the room.
