Hey, that's nice that you are helping out your family by looking after your grandpa. I don't just say that because I'm a grandpa myself and am helping take care of my grand daughter, I just want to say I respect what you are doing.
OK, so your grandpa's email deal is not so bad (for him), but certainly a problem for anyone who downloads anything. Working with 130KB/s must mean that you do almost all of your downloads by starting them when you go to bed, and checking on them the next day.
I remember what that was like! Of course, I remember a lot of things. Heck, I was around when dinosaurs roamed the earth and there was no such thing as a computer science degree, but the suits still wanted to hire anyone who could write code.
