Reply to Killing guards before getting sword bug?

I killed the guards before getting the sword and now after getting it the game doesn't seem to progress. Even when i walk through the door Milder still says: "Holy crap a tunnel in the fireplace." and nothing else happens. Can i fix this somehow? Did i miss something or do i have to just restart the game?
