top of guard tower

Hi, I took Sparrowhawk's advice,
and started looking for "sparkly"
spots; I managed to get to the top(?)
floor of the guard tower, after
getting another gold heart, and to
save my game (thank god!) On this floor are 2 posts- 1 blinks red, the other, blue. My question is: now what do I do?
A walkthrough of any sort would be a
big help!

The screen locks and they shoot at you.. Try shooting back?
It's a boss battle you have to destroy both poles to win. Just use fire magic. Water magic is very weak here (against both poles.) It seems to only do 3 or 5 damage once while fire is a consistent 20 against both poles. Remember that the direction of the missiles fired by the poles is limited. Use that to your advantage.
There is a sweet spot I should note. Standing inbetween the two poles they will fire horizontally at you. There is a spot in which you can stand a tad bit above the missile fire, and still be able to directly hit the poles. This may make the battle a little too easy, but when all else fails..
Also to note, when a pillbug comes out, take it out right away. If you use the 'spot' they are the only thing that will hurt you (at the beginning at least.)

When you destroy the poles theres a little cutscene of some beams destroying a roadblock (right outside of the tower.) You should head north through where the roadblock is. After that, there will be a split path. Ech lead to a different ending.
