The North's Pilgrim

The North's Pilgrim is the follwing part of the Rise of the Goblins. For looking to the things, it's future looks pretty good. And we're pretty sure it will be even FINSIHED some time.

The Story

The story starts where the part 1 ends. Dink is going to look for July, and Hujyk, who has escaped to north.

This D-Mod is going to be MUCH bigger and better than part 1. There isn't as much as humour as in part 1, suddenly. SOME of the people didn't like it. (???)

There seems to be a slightly misplaced wall in the northeastern corner of the house, but other than that, the screenshots look really good.

Well, we may change some of the screens still. Add some trees, rocks etc. Happy you like it.

Also, thanks Ducklord. I wouldn't have noticed that wall in the house, if you wouldn't have told me.

Everyone should get a pizza for free in each week. 
I think that in part 1 there were too much cutscenes than normal playing. You should add a few cutscenes but not that you're in the next screen and boom the cutscene goes then another on 2 or 3 screens.

Past these frustrating weeks, the programming, mapping, and everything has been really slow. Almoust nothing has been made. I managed to make one village. Well, that's something.

Erik has done ABSOLUTELY nothing, and Jameil is on holidays and doesn't want to use his free-time to make The North's Pilgrim. While boring times, I have made a lot with Fall of Darkness, so the programming has INDEED been slow!

Still, I have managed to get these, into my computer! Hooray for the screenshots! Yay!

That is a ridiculous question, DinkDude.

As for the screenshots.. you could do with adding some more details around the place. Crates stacked up against buildings - Things like that. At the moment the map looks like it is suffering from blandness.

It makes a whole lot of difference to your d-mod if you add in the little details, even if they don't affect the gameplay.

How is that a ridiculous question?! I've seen countless D-Mods where the author either wasn't bothered, or didn't know how to make the fire animated!! I'm sure Skull has more expertise than those people. But, hey, it's always good to make sure.

It is a ridiculous question. It's akin to asking if the sprites have hardness, or whether the NPC's have scripts. Whilst inexperienced d-mod authors might make a mistake, and I see where you are coming from, it is still a pretty unnecessary question.

Besides, if my memory serves me right, isn't that fire animation is broken anyway?

That is what I mean, and I'm pretty sure it was broken. But that was probably just me breaking it when working on CC2.

The depth dot is definitely a bit screwy.

Skull, you should focus more on every screen. With that I mean you should add more trees, bushes, make it more cozy! All I see at this moment are some screens with a house in the middle... Not very entertaining. Otherwise I think it'll be a nice D-Mod

Shouldn't your name be "metatarsal"?
A 'metatarsal' is a bone in the foot, along with 'tarsals' and 'phalanges'. I don't know what the heck a 'metatarasal' is!

metatarasal's point is a valid one.

If I was a baker, baking cakes, and wanted you to give me your opinions on the cake I was baking, would I give you some cake, or some cake mixture?

Or more to the point, would I give you some cake mixture which was missing a rather important ingredient, and when you said "Eww, that's disgusting," ignore the issue by explaining how I would be adding the missing ingredient later, and that the cake mixture would eventually taste quite nice indeed?

It's just not logical dammit. Cake.

Yes it should be metatarsal. But I misspelled it and well... I've grown into it...

And I have started a major update for The Scourger in the past, but it seemed to much work for to little gain in the end... But still it's nice to hear some critics, could help me with my next project...

I'm not saying those weren't valid points. Heck, I think demos, etc. should be substantial.

I want as much as I can get for nothing as quickly as possible just like the next guy.

I just think you ought to give the guy a break, assuming he's doing his best, keeping his respective skill level in mind.

If he's not doing his best, well, that's his problem, I guess. And more to the point, why bother?

And as there is and WILL be very long times before new updates, so I just thought some of you might want to see even a few screenshots.

I've seen that you have potential Skull. I think this will be your best D-Mod so far, you've come a long way from your first releases. Yes, I have a feeling that this D-Mod will be great!

OK Sabre, just for the sake of argument...

What in your analogy of the unfinished game would constitute "cake" and what would constitute "cake-mix"?

As what you're getting is always a piece of the whole, it seems like the answer would have to be very arbitrary.

It also seems that in order for your metaphor to hold, you're only going to be satisfied sampling the finished product...

Unless you like your cakes like you like your metaphors: half-baked.

Just some food for thought.
