It's late night in North Dakota, and it is visible outside. This is not because of streetlights, however, but rather because of an unnatural glow. I'm not sure exactly how I see a red glow outside, but it makes me feel like I live on Mars. Do any of you have this red glow at night?

Sometimes. With my window wide open, people can see the glow from my computer monitor while I toil away working into the depths of the night.

Aurora borealis, perhaps? I can see it right now, just by looking out of my room's window.

It isn't auroras or anything like that, I think it's a side effect of a thick cloudy sky and light pollution. It isn't a pure red, it's more like a mix of gray and red.

Uhhh, you won't have much luck if you want to see the auroras far from the north or south pole. During sunstorms the auroras are particularly bright, and are visible much farther from the poles.
