New D-Mod: All That Glitters!
SlipDink has released his third D-Mod, All That Glitters!. This time around, Dink starts on a quest to a land that is rumored to have an abundance of golden riches: golden ponies, golden eggs, golden geese, and even golden showers.
I think there's a bigger issue here: is Skurn influencing the development of SlipDink's D-Mods? Skurn is known to appreciate a pony or two, and there's a giant glittering pony in a casino environment at the start of this D-Mod. Is this a coded message to Skurn, warning him that he is 'gambling' on 'ponies'? Or is it a mere coincidence?

ducking sweet golden sweetie belle statue, sweetie. <3
@redink1:
The only message about gambling that is part of this dmod is that it is a bad idea in general. As for the "pony" on the wall, well... Dink has a lot to say about it.
As for ponies, gold or otherwise, enjoy! The name of the gambling establishment in question is the "GOLDEN PONY CASINO", so of course, it has "a giant glittering pony" as part of the usual subtle, tasteful and understated decor that is typical of all casinos.

@Skurn:
Let me know what you think of the story and the game.
And yes, if it was not for you, I would never have put a "my little pony", into a game.

Will play because Sweetie Belle! Also, is this the first D-Mod with anything pony related in it?
Yes. As far as I know, this is the first dmod with a "my little pony" in it.
I'll be releasing the 1.10 version of "All That Glitters" a bit later this week, with a few fixes and minor enhancements in it.
Enjoy.

@ redink1:
So that I may address "bigger issue here", let me just say that when getting ideas from active members on what they might like to see in a dmod, one mentioned the "my little pony" stuff and another mentioned that they would want to have a casino in a dmod.
So, to the capital city of the land of Amazin, I added a casino named the Golden Pony!
BTW, thanks for the great blackjack game borrowed from one of your dmods.
@ all:
So, how many played the "Wheel of Bankruptcy" game? And, how many played blackjack?
Version 1.10 of the "All That Glitters" dmod should be out a bit later this week, complete with a few fixes and enhancements.

I played the wheel once and won, and blackjack twice and won once. Then I stopped, because the odds are against me (as they should be in a casino) and I thought I might need the money later on.

@ shevek: I'm glad you had some fun there, and yes, the odds are certainly against the player in the Golden Pony Casino!

i've used some desktop pony sprites.

Buggy bugs first:
In the version 1.08, after the intro cutscene, I spawned inside some dungeon with some wizard dude. I guessed this must be a bug, so I tried on DinkHD, and it works normally.
Every time you open inventory, you lose health. Maybe this was intentional, for every time you pick a sword from it, but it happens, even if I just open it.
Idiot user second:
What are buttons for playing blackjack. I can't pick 'hit me' or any other option...?

Hmmm. I do not test very much with DinkHD, but I DO test extensively with 1.08 under Linux and under Windoze Vista (well, I use Wine(*) lately) and have never had Dink end up in the wrong screen after the intro!
I'll look into that though. #1)Did the same problem happen more than once? #2)Were you doing anything a bit unusual, (such as trying to direct Dink somewhere before the cut scene was over)? #3)What else can you tell me about how this happens?

You have apparently noticed one of the costs of using Carnifex Maximus, that Martridge tried to warn Dink about. This is not a bug, it's just how this type of parasite (and evil intelligent weapon) works. Have fun!

Well, you need to use the left and right arrow keys to move the cursor, then press [Ctrl].
(*)Wine (originally an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator") is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD.

Did the same problem happen more than once?
I don't know. It happened on Dink 1.08, not on DinkHD. Also, it was under Windows 10, I know what Wine is ( I use it to run some really old games, it works better ).
I'll try again tomorrow probably, and post results here... I mean, being suddenly stuck with bearded midget in the dungeon was really creepy. I'm all in for the kinky homosexual stuff, but that really freaked me out

Okay. I've made changes in the 1.10 version that should (I hope) prevent that from happening, though I have not been able to reproduce the issue in my testing.
I should get that 1.10 build ready for release soon.

I've just uploaded the 1.10 version, though things area still not quite working correctly in my web browser since the https related changes.
It has a number of fixes, and changes put into place to add more hints, make some things clearer, etc.
Please enjoy!

they're in the tripe trouble thing. there's a twilight sparkle toy on marty's shelf in one of them, and a side quest in another was gonna have you collect pony toys.
and glim glam is best pony.

Ahh, what fresh hell I spawned by bringing that show to this site.
I regret nothing.
And I'll have to find time to play this DMod I suppose...

Well, you might find the 1.10 version slightly more enjoyable to play than the 1.00 version, so you may want to wait for redink1 (or others?) to post it. And, I'd prefer any new bug reports that come in to be from the newer version.
On the other hand, all that commented upon it seem to have considered the 1.00 version to be quite playable.

Golden dictionary, you mean?
Golden dictionary, you mean?
I know I have only been a visible participant in the DN (doing more than anonymously downloading dmods) for a few years. Am I missing something? What is a golden dictionary in this context?
Surely it is not this, right?
