Dink smallwood references in other games?
I was reading the dink smallwood wiki page the other day and saw this mentioned
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dink_Smallwood
Trivia
In Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, a reference to Dink Smallwood can be found: "(Facetiously) I am Dinkamus Littlelog and I come in search of the holy groundhog.".
In Borderlands' first DLC, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, an adventurer named Dirk Smallwood is part of a missing "Misery Bus" crew parodying Scooby-Doo.
Are these really references to dink smallwood ? were the devs fans of dink ? are there any other games which references dink ?
i do own borderlands on steam but not that dlc or else would have checked that reference.

Yes, these are references. If I'm not mistaken, Dink Smallwood was quite popular in the 90's and early 2000's as there weren't many good free RPGs. Considering the devs were gamers in these times, they may have played Dink Smallwood. But so far, these are the only references I know of, and possibly the only ones to exist.
Huh, I've played both those games and I don't remember the Baldur's Gate one (but that was stupidly long time ago)... However, I do actually remember coming across Dirk Smallwood in Borderlands.
I also agree those are intentional references.

Two is not enough! Need more!! I wish there was a bowl of Dink Smallwood References cereal!!
"Dink Smallwood References Cereal! It's a bonca in every bightbite!"
Aheh heh heh
Not from another game, but a TV show. I didn't want to make a new thready just for one reference.
In the Purge episode from season 2 of Rick and Morty, the wealthy musicians can be heard playing a song that Dink Smallwood uses. In Dink the song is called "Windemere," which is based off of a classical song that I can't remember the name of. I've never heard the song outside of discussions about the Dink Smallwood soundtrack, and even though they only play it for a few seconds I picked up pretty quickly. If anyone watches the show it might be interesting to see if you can catch it.

Also has anyone here seen westworld? Every time I watched an episode all I thought about was dink because 'Reverie' by Debussy kept playing in the background.
EDIT:
For Pillbugs post

Nice work Zed, the people out there that provide links for those of us that are too lazy to do so ourselves are the heroes we need. With a timestamp, too! That's top-tier.
And I haven't watched West World, but I've heard good things. I'll check it out and keep my ears open for the song.
