i defeated the wizard in the blacksmiths trail but now i cant figure out what to do. i cant pick up the hammer, ive walked around the whole town and cant figure out what im supposed to do. help

I think you need to fix the hammer before you can pick it up.
and I think you have to do something at the church to make that happen.
