Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
This small add-on for the original Dink Smallwood game and other D-Mods lets the player use a single key to change the blood graphics into nice yellow Smiley Faces. After you've given the Dink Smallwood directory, the installationprogram will place the graphics and the script for it in the directory where they should be. You can use the * key on your numpad to active this little add-on and to turn it off, you can do that with the same key (*) to get normal blood back.

If you kill (or hurt) a monster, you'll see tiny Smileys appear as blood. This happens for each monster you kill or hurt with a weapon or magic. Ducks are a bit different from the others. You'll see ducks who will still get their heads chopped off and the spurting blood animation where Smiley Faces erupt. While the ducks are walking around without their head, Smileys will appear as blood. Now if you kill the duck completely, you'd normally see a blood explosion (well, something like that then), but a large Smiley Face (compared with the small ones for the blood) will smile to you (duh, it's a Smiley Face). Of course, these graphics are also used when a monster hurts Dink.

Then we'll get to something else: what's the use of this add-on? It's fun to have Smileys as blood but for how long? After a few times slashing monsters (and innocent ducks), I changed back to normal red blood. The Smiley Faces are funny for a while but after that they don't offer as much fun as killing monsters with normal blood.

Last thing here, there's an installationprogram to add the Smile Blood but you can't easily remove it - just in case you want it. So you'd have to look in the dinkstory dir for the key script file (that's key-106.c, if you wanna know) and in the graphics dir for the Smiley graphics. That's not a problem for me but oh well, I'll just let ya know

Overview:
What Smile Blood does is change the blood spurts to smiley faces, similar to Flower Blood. This is a great alternative for younger Dinkers and those weird people who are scared of seeing blood.

Good:
- Everything

Bad:
- Doesn't remove the blood pool that surrounds a dead monster.

Overall:
Smile Blood works extremely well and does everything it should.

The intentions behind making this file are propably good, but I doubt anyone actually likes to see smileys when hitting enemies or being hit. The smileys look kinda irritating, and after using this add-on for a while they start looking wicked rather than something of the kind and innocent type.

This file changes the graphics for blood into smiley ones.
So when you are fighting with a monster, no blood appears, but smileys instead. Which is a very nice – and friendly – change to the normal situation. And a funny one too. Monsters bleeding with smileys are hilarious – but actually quite unrealistic. It is indeed fun to look at for a while, but it gets boring quite quickly. Perhaps because it is not realistic, or perhaps you want to see a monster bleed for all the effort you put in it fighting it. Not just smileys, but real blood.

You can activate this feature with the * key, and deactivate it with the same key. But, although there is an explanation on how to activate/deactivate and the add-on will install itself with only a couple of mouse clicks, there is no uninstall programme. The only thing to do is what Simeon advises, but I did not know that before I read his review, and perhaps others do not either.

Overall this is indeed a nice add on, but one that should have an uninstall option. And it is an add-on that can get boring quit quickly.
