Yes this file is exactly what it says a demonstration of how to have a scrolling background. It does not include an explanation of how this works. So you will have to go into DinkEdit or WDE to find the background which is a bmp file that fills the screen (640 by 400 pixels). There is a fence with the script scroll.c attached in the map that has the scrolling background. Look at this script to decipher how the effect was achieved.

I would like to see this file have an accompanying readme text file which goes into a little more depth of the mechanics. Yes I can figure them out for myself, but it would help if I had this information from the author.

The scrolling effect itself is a little jerky, but that is a problem inherent in the Dink Engine (I think)

Another great redink1 file!! It's written to only scroll from top to bottom, but can easily be altered to scroll whichever direction you like. In addition to scrolling bmps below the sprites you can also scroll bmps above the sprites and create cool rain and snow effects (make sure you use a white background for transparency).
