Pinky The Pig

Visiting Santa
Description
It's Christmas eve (hopefully this is approved before then *winks*), and everyone's looking forward to the morning! Well, almost everyone. There just so happens to be a pig which finds Christmas rather depressing. Help cheer her up, and.. uh... You win! Yay!
(Yes, it's a Christmas DMOD, believe it or not!)

This is either my first or second DMOD, I'm not quite sure yet... I've started an EPIC dmod, but I put that on hold and made this in about 6 days, so decide for yourself.

Anyway, it should be mostly bug-free, so enjoy!

The guy with the cute D-Mod.
JugglingDink has outdone himself here. For a first D-Mod, this Christmas Mod deserves extra special praise. With a very original storyline, innovative, mostly non-combat gameplay, I can't think of anything better that could have been released for 2010 Christmas.

Plot
Martridge's pig, Pinky has fallen depressed, because of the time of year... Christmas. He seems to dislike it, and Dink's task is to make him happy! Or else he can't go home!

Graphics
The graphics in this game were clever. There wasn't much new stuff (apart from my Snow-Grass Transitional tiles, so extra points for using them!) but JD used his available resources well. Shrinking sprites and using specific frames of certain sequences (if you know what that means ) to his advantage, to make some very snazzy looking Christmas decorations! All the baubles hung around and the lights and such. The giant Christmas Tree in the town square is really something to marvel at.

Combat
On this rare occasion, I am going to commend JD for limiting the combat in this game. The only killable enemies are a few pillbugs, but they are simply used as obstacles, more than anything. I think the lack of combat makes this D-Mod much more of a 'fun' type D-Mod, and a 'problem-solver', rather than a 'kill-everything-you-can-and-level-up-as-high-as-you-can-to-prepare-for-the-epic-boss-at-the-end' D-Mod.

So all in all; excellent plot, innovative graphics, good gameplay, this is the Christmas D-Mod. Even though it's been a few weeks since Santa came at the time of this writing, the spirit should always be there, and this D-Mod is an excellent way for a Dinker to experience the Christmas spirit! You'll be laughing at the funny dialogue, marvelling at the clever use of default graphics and you'll be gripped to your seat for the entire Christmas ride!
