Alas, my "FB3 killer" Dmod will never be finished (thank my 8 yr old HD that failed). Anyway, after downloading and watching the trailer recently, it really brought back memories. The Dmod was inspired by Alpha Centauri where several groups of people each with their own ideals are co-existing in a single region. With certain groups or factions having sometimes strained relationships with others based on their beliefs. Based on who you helped and what you did would affect the outcome of the story to some degree.

Concerning the story, it isn't really set in the future. Think Final Fantasy 6 (or Mystery Island). One faction was really into technology, that's where to robots/tech/future look came from.

Also, the red "egg" is not an egg, nor is it a button, but the eye of one of the main characters. The graphics were the ninja robot from MI. It is the weapon that they are talking about testing which is missing the parts (a large part of the story is collecting the parts and restoring the robot, hopefully for the good guys, and not the bad guys).

While I liked the mood of the trailer, it does come off a bit more serious than the game was, probably because of the musical tone. The pace does slow down considerably when the two workers are talking towards the end of the trailer, but it was a nessecary part of the story... perhaps some more editing was needed to keep people from getting droopy eyed during that last part

Overall, a decent project, and hopefully the Dmod (renamed to The Box) would have really outshown the trailer, but we will all just have to imagine (or just forget about) it as it will never be released. Oh, well, on to better things.

A trailer for a DMOD that seems destined to be unfinsihed. This trailer has some nice new graphics at the begining but after that it becomes very tedious and talky... Also its scripting is faulty in that if you use spacebar to try and speed up the conversation either the invisible Dink talks to himself, or if it is Dink involved in the conversation the trailer gets aborted and Dink can walk around the screen, off the screen and nothing much else happens.

Graphics: The best thing in this new DMOD. Not sure what to make of the red egg loading screen - oh wait, it's not an egg, it's a button. Man, I wish I could push that button and start the trailer... or even better blow up the trailer. Best graphic is that full screen one of the military base/installation. That was very well done except for the areas that were white pixels, which became transparent.

Story: Oh... 6 warring factions, in the future... something else, but I lost interest fast. Way too much boring conversation for me. Part of the reason I like Dink is the humour, and part of the reason the 256 graphics work is the humour they provide. But this DMOD has no sense of humour. It's story is serious, and I find the graphics work against this in a major way.

I mean the farmer dude with the scythe talking to Dink and it's supposed to be set in the future? Doesn't cut the mustard.

Music: Oh what drivel. I found it hard to resist hitting ALT-F4.

Overall 5 out of 10. If you start this trailer, touch nothing... sit back with your favourite drink and maybe you'll like it. I didn't.

This trailer gives an introduction to a new adventure of Dink. Dink belongs to The Neutrals and has to protect his town against six other nations.
Both graphics and music are used in a good way. It is only a bit weird to see Dink in his familiar grass/wood/trees-surroundings after having watched several screens with robots and science-fiction talk.
Although the trailer is nicely done, that's all there is. It is a shame that there is no D-mod, since I think it would be a good one.

This is a nicely-done trailer. It used quite a lot of new graphics, most of them came from Mystery Island I guess. [Note by redink1: no graphics in BTS came from Mystery Island] Story telling indicates a great epic coming out. The music is just OK. You can find some cinematic effects used here, but the montage of the movie is just OK. The trailer ends a little faster than I expected, and the author did not end the trailer automatically. You can get Dink walking on the last screen unable to do any thing...

It seems that this story would end before it ever started (The author does not intend to finish this dmod as far as I know). [Note from redink1, not necessarily...] It's still worth a download, especially for those who try to make a dmod without experience.
