I stumbled on this D-Mod when I was searching for some good D-Mods which I haven't played. This is one of the best D-Mods which I have played. Striket obviously has put a lot of effort into this one.

Graphics: The map is very well done with nice new look. Each screen is well decorated with plenty of sprites which looks a lot different from many other D-Mods. The Forest of the Ancients is exceptionally well made. The new Dink looks great.
Score:9.5

Gameplay: The gameplay is balanced, neither too difficult nor too easy with plenty of action, I never get bored and the cutscenes though long did not affect the gameplay. It contained a lot of humour and the midis matched perfectly with the atmosphere. I was really disappointed that this was not a full game and only a demo.Sigh*
Score:9.2

Story: The story was good, dink returning form the dead was a nice idea but sontimes I got confused what was happening in the story but always understood it in the end.
Score:9.3

Overall: 9.4
It is a very good D-Mod and anyone who likes Dink should play this Dmod.

Some dmods are innovative in very obvious ways, some are innovative in very subtle ways. This one is both...

Style: 9
Exceedingly well decorated and scripted, with a number of new graphics. In particular, the new Dink pics are awesome, especially the one for death. On the downside, the cutscenes are long and verbose. In general, there's way too much talking, although Dink's character has been well chiseled.

Gameplay: 9
The Forest of the Ancients is an exceptionaly well-made area (though it could stand having more stuff to do: I prefer the FIAT dungeons to it, for example), and the pillbug ghosts are very cool. Also, the bosses are good (a little stale now, but this was made in 2001). The pointless RPG tasks have been well implemented, and show a fair amount of innovation (the fish quest, the fireplace thingy). No new enemies or magic though (besides one-time stuff.) Really, the main problem in this department is that the game is to short to do any really good gameplay sequences (outside of the final battle.)

Story: 9
The story is good but somewhat confusing... and this is a dmod that leans heavily on developing story. Somehow it bothers me that the agent of Dink's resurrection is Martridge... Martridge can resurrect people?

Overall: 9.0

Back From The Dead (Demo) by Striker.

Dink is having one of those days

The Good: A great Dmod, where Dink returns from the dead, and battles all sorts of monsters, no new ones,(exception: Robots who make a guest appearance) but the old favourtes as he makes his way through graveyard, town, and tunnels to complete his quest. A (not so nifty) Hammer is his only weapon. The midi’s were good (bad speakers) and lots of small puzzles and a hidden surprise, made this an interesting dmod. The dialogue was great too. A few small bugs, but none really to complain of.

The Bad: It’s only a DEMO! I was hoping in time that the author’s might finish it, but alas, I think it’s not to be. Save bots are few and far between, and no potions (health) can be bought. It can be confusing to those wandering around the tunnel (I didn’t mind) and Dink’s weapon looked bigger than him. The secret is well hidden, as I recall when I first played the game and pple emailing me asking how to get the secret.

Overall: A Great Demo, that I wish someone had finished!!

One of my favourite DMODS, as in the title lol... Dink gets sent to retrieve what's left of the machinery from Mystery Island, which blew up... It has a nice storyline, puzzles, gameplay, nicely arranged graphics and isn't predictable... I promise absolute satisfaction from this game. I wish Striker would make the dang full version already!

I Reckon this game is really good for all of its features, heres my score

GRAPHICS 7/10
The graphics are pretty good compared to the simple ones, like when dink is a skeleton
Music 9/10
The midis are really good, they put an effect on the vent Dink is in, I especially like the midis when Dink fights the red robots and encounters with Roller
GamePlay 8/10
The game is really suspending like. For example when Dink has to defeat the goblins and fight the robots and when he is in the forest maze. But I really wish that someone will finish this demo because it seems so fascinating.
OVERALL: 24/30 - 80%
The game is awesome!! But i just wish tha someone would make the second part

Did that Bonca just quack!?
I first saw this D-Mod back in 2002. However, because I'm such a dumbass, I couldn't figure out how to download it. Lol, now that I've figured it all out, I can say that I've played it, and what's more, even beaten it.

***SPOILERS AHEAD!!***

I liked the new graphics. The new dink, for instance, is genius. He looks similar to Ghost Rider, but without the flaming head and motorcycle. I also like the Hammer. While it is a bit larger than Dink, it is a pretty handy weapon. Aquiring it is just too funny. You wander around for a bit in the grveyard, and find that there is only one way off of the little "Island" you're on. Unfortunately, you have to go through the old groundskeeper, first. After pondering for a bit as to how best to reach him, you find that you simply can't. So, you threaten him... how does he reply? "STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES, BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME." Sticks and stones, huh. I'll go find some, then. *FAST FORWARD* You've got the stick and stone, now to figure out how to bind tehm... Ah, the vines on Milder's grave! So now, you've got a hammer. Time to face that groundskeeper... "THAT CRAZY dink HAS STICKS AND STONES!" He runs, you get a cheap laugh, and you enter the village to find that everyone hates you, because you are a zombie. Then the goblins attack, then you do mindless tasks for them, you accidentally teleport to a labrynth-style forest, you get through, you meet a robot identical to the end boss of Mystery Island, you become friends, you teleport back, the goblinsa re pissed because you left, you and your robot fight the dinks, and that's the end of the demo. Quite a mouthful, huh?

Final score: 9.9
Fit for: Everyone.

Man, I love Necrodragons....
Well, the game starts somewhere in mystery island and you have to find the problem there and you end up dead!
Too bad it's only a demo and you only have a hammer for a weopon but I found out that drinking form a black foutain in the forest of ancients gives you two secret spells-Lighting magic and Meteor shower magic!
Overall: Its fun and nice, the undead dink graphic is detailed too.

BFTG, is a very well done d-mod.

Story:8-B
The story is pretty good but a tad to confusing. BFGT seems to rely to heavily on people being understanding the story. Although if you get through the confusion there is actually a some what good storyline.

Map: 9-B
Map, what map, its more like several real life photos screened together. Anyway, the map is nice and detailed and interesting. Although I couldn't find any secrets and secrets are good, but I'm not all that good at finding secrets, so I didn't deduct any points.

Graphics:9-A
The graphics of the dead Dink are great, and I could not find any bugs. The graphics of the blue bot are also very well done. They're the only new graphics I could find.

Scripting:9-C
Nothing special here, yet no bugs.

Final Comment:
Download this d-mod if you are looking for a well done alternate adventure style d-mod.

Very funny DMOD this. Nice new graphics, difficulty is good, map and sounds are great as were most of the midis.

The concept of Dink coming back from the dead but still not complete is very good - new and refreshing, if death can be called refreshing.

Lots of hints of new things that the full version will have. Download this if you want to have a good quick DMOD to play as even though it's only a demo it is better than a lot of finished DMODs.

This is a dang original d-mod, not to mention it has humor and new graphics in it (which most d-mods lack). There is one real other thing I liked about the d-mod, and that was the puzzles, they are also very original. Overall, if you like puzzles and thing out of the ordinary, try this d-mod, it's great. if you like dull d-mods that go nowhere, don't download this.

The description claims that this game is a demo. Hmm. Completely disregard any preconceptions you may have to what a demo is - this game is more like the unfinished Dink's Doppleganger, which goes over one section of the plot. The main difference being, however, that whilst DD was formulaic, Back from the Grave is quite possibly the best D-Mod I've played.

In terms of atmosphere, the game is unsurpassed by any D-Mod I've played - a lot of loving detail has gone into the scenery, not just into making it interesting, but also into facilitating gameplay. The sound, also, is fantastic, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

The combat is finely balanced, and the boss battles tremendous - The focus is on action, rather than repetitive slashing.

The most important thing, however, is the absorbing aspect - the dialogue is intelligent and humourous, and the fashion in which new stuff is thrown at you makes for an exciting game. The plot twists, turns and loops the loop, with plot twists that surely couldn't be tied up...

And, of course, they're not, for that's when the game finishes. This sours what is a peerless experience, because once you complete it, you know that if this D-Mod was ever finished, it would have been the greatest of all time. This is a paradigmatic tragedy of a D-Mod that never was, and yet has so much substance, and should be downloaded by everybody.

Wow! I don't know why I waited so long to download this, I guess I usually do not download demos'. Anyway, this is a great demo. Dink dies and his soul is brought back for another quest. There is some very funny stuff in here. My favorite was the grave yard with grave stones of dinkers past and almost, sorta, not really past. This demo has the making of an awesome dmod, and I hope the author finishes it. Even though its a demo, it earns high marks for originality, humor, and cool new characters.

starts off with some garbage about mystery island. what the hell is this? you ask. this sucks! you say. but wait, no, the plot completely turns around with a super 360 and you frickin die! yes you are dead! what happens next? the good stuff starts here. lots of blood. lots of effects. lots and lots of stuff that will make you poop your pants. very funny.

new graphics, completely new dink, fun quest, only one problem. this is a demo. wah. so you wont get very far.
