This is a lot better than Dink Bigwood. Indeed, the game has a sort of indescribable style, like Secret of Pariyaza, but is dragged down by many flaws and bugs. Also, really bad gameplay.

Style: 8
The dialogue is interesting, the decoration is sparse in some places, but mostly quite well done. Some things are scripted, although I noted at least two annoying freeze bugs. It's fun to play as a slayer. There are some good new sounds, and well placed graphics, mostly taken from other dmods. THe music is nothing special, but it isn't annoying. The intro was pretty awesome, and the bits immediately following it (for instance, the television.) I guess that's where most of the style comes from, along with the amusing notes strewn throughout the game. The English is... less than perfect, but it's almost always clear what the author means, so that isn't a problem.

Gameplay: 3
Just bad. The fighting is *way* too easy; the only source of difficulty in the game is the fact that things are hidden in illogical places. Also annoying are the many screens with invisible borders. This is not a long list of minuses, but it's a pretty devastating list.

On the plus side: there's a good spell similar to the pain spell from LoT. Also, some of the quests are sort of amusing, although never especially novel. Really, one of the annoying things about playing RPGs is that you find yourself doing the same quest over and over with only minor alterations. Go kill a monster to get an item, go talk to a guy to get an item, etc. etc. What a dmod author has to do is make these quests somehow challenging or fulfilling (or, barring that, at least interesting.) Here, it helps that you always have a clear goal (hunt the pillbugs), and almost all of the requisite actions are in service to that goal.

Story: 8
Confusing but good. I can't explain why the story is good, but it is, and it actually sort of matters to the gameplay.

Overall: 6.2
(-.1 for bugginess)
It might actually be a little worse than this... but it could be worthwhile to download just for the intro and initial parts.

The nation above all
Originally I thought this wouldn't be a great experience, especially after I played Dink Bigwood. But it's not bad actually. There are a few bugs (like the character movement frames turning into a pig), the grammar is not a strong point, and there are invisible walls. The mapping is avarage, but the new graphics are added nicely to the game. The main character in this D-Mod is a slayer, and that makes the gameplay more interesting. The story is good for the purpose, the game is a bit on the easy side, but the locationa and quest objectives are varied. And there's a new spell. I would recommend this D-Mod to people looking for a different gameplay experience than standard Dink.

Man, I love Necrodragons....
Firstly this dmod is not related to the original game as instead of dink, you get to control a slayer! However the graphic for "bite" an attack you get for doing the quest is the same as a slayer attacking with his claw, if Dinkdragon actually puts real bite graphics the game will be cool!

I thought this DMOD was pretty good, using the take of playing as a slayer instead of the regular character. Game play was enjoyable, the screens though tended to get confusing, especially when walking into buildings, it was sometimes difficult to do that.

Its worth a download, lots of sidequests, which is nice.

So lazy... So incredibly lazy...
This is the second D-mod I have played created by DinkDragon. You are a slayer called Gorbac who sets out to kill evil pillbugs destorying his village (although at one point I became a pig whenever I was not idle or attacking). The storyline in sound, though it is mainly built upon side-quest (that take 15 mins each), but I did enjoy the twist at the end of Dink Bigwood alot better than the ending of this.

While it is humurous, I *HATE* how he can't complete all the screens and leaves the player to discover the invisible walls. I also rather dislike the fact that spellcheck does not apply to .C/.D files becuase if it did I would be able to understand what many npc were saying alot more.

I did however like the new sprites such as the windmills and the sounds were also notable (for example when you hit a guard he will go "Oww!" in a deep voice). The battle were easy, which I like because you spend more time talking (which in my opinion develops storyline better than fighting).

Overall, a good D-mod that will keep you entertained for a good hour, though you better not download it if you hate invisible walls and bad punctation.

However, the new version (2.0 Duh) is a fine improvement. No screen wall thingies are at a minium. +2 points

I enjoyed playing this game although there was definately some lag
at the beginning cut-scenes.I liked being a slayer, it's always fun to
be a different main character.I didn't like the invisible walls and the
unclear borders.I really liked the new skeleton dude but I think that
the hardbox was off on him.The new weapon, oddly called earthquake, was pretty cool and made it a bit too easy to beat the end boss.
I enjoy the mini tasks within the main quest. The music was alright, the
graphics were routine and I didn't find any bugs that would prevent
one from finishing the game.Overall, I had fun playing it and I look
forward to more games from this dmod creator.

Object: Find and kill the giant pill bug (which you never get to do).
game play was good but the author really needs to work on the hardness errors and removing creatures after they die.
It was cool playing a slayer instead of dink but killing stuff was way too easy.
The worst part is there are no visible barriers, you come to the edge of a screen and just can't go any farther.
I would give this game a lot higher score if the author worked on some of the errors and put in edges/boarders/baracades that you can see.
